16.-18. August

Danish Days in Stykkishólmur

The town festival Danskir dagar, or the Danish Days, are held in Stykkishólmur during the weekend of 16th - 18th of August. The first Danish Days were held back in 1994 and will, therefore, be celebrated for the 25th time this summer!

Even though the Danish Days take place during the weekend, the schedule starts a few days ahead with small activities for the locals. During the weekend, emigrated family members, friends of locals and the town's fans from all over gather in Stykkishólmur for a full weekend of an eventful schedule which is filled fun for the whole family.

Locals garnish their houses with the Danish flag and red decorations and many small street grills are held for friends and family.

Further information about the Danish Days and the schedule of the weekend can be found at the festival's Facebook page
