Búðardalur Sports CenterSwimming Pool • Fitness • Gym In the heart of Búðardalur, you’ll find a modern and impressive sports center designed for relaxation, exercise, and fun. Whether you're looking to unwind or stay active, the facility offers something for everyone. The center features a 25-meter outdoor swimming pool, hot tubs, a children’s pool, sauna, and cold tub. From the pool area, guests can enjoy a beautiful view over Hvammsfjörður, making it an ideal place to relax. The water is sourced from a borehole in Reykjadalur in Dalir. The main pool is kept between 28–30°C, while the hot tubs range from 38–40°C and the children’s pool is around 35°C. Visitors can also access a well-equipped fitness center—perfect for maintaining a workout routine while traveling. The gym hosts regular classes and activities organized by local sports clubs and community groups, catering to all age groups. The sports center officially opened on February 28, 2026, and is conveniently located within walking distance of key services such as shops, restaurants, campsites, and local workshops. The swimming pool at Jaðarsbakka is a 5 lane, 25-meter outdoor pool. There is a sauna and a water slide. The hot tub area was renovated in 2017 and there is now a small children's pool and two hot tubs. Opening hours: Weekdays: 06:30-22:00 Weekends: 09:00-19:00

A pleasant swimming pool, in close proximity to one of the most powerful hot springs in Europe, Deildartunga Spring. An outside pool, hot tub and a gym.  Opening hours: Summer (1/6 - 19/8): 09:00-18:00 all days   

Hreppslaug is a historic, naturally fed bathing place in Andakíll, Skorradalur. Built in 1928, the pool is supplied with warm water from streams and springs in the hillside above. Facilities include two hot tubs, a sauna, an outdoor shower, and a cold plunge. Hreppslaug is run by the local community association Ungmennafélagið Íslendingur and has been built up with strong local effort and volunteer work. No booking is needed — just visit during opening hours. Outdoor and indoor swimming pool with Frasenius certified water, claimed to have regenerative powers. Thermal tubs, a cold tub, water slide and a wading pool for the children.  Summer opening hours - June 1st. - August 31st. Fridays - 07.05 - 19.00 Mondays-Thursdays - 07.05 - 22.00 Saturdays - 10.00 - 17.00

At Hlaðir you will find a cosy outdoor swimming pool. Spacious dressing rooms and a steam room are located in the basement. The pool is 16,67 x 8 meters and there is also a children´s pool with a toboggan and two hot tubs. Open Mondays - Fridays from 12:00 to 20:00 and Saturdays - Sundays from 10:00 to 20:00.

Lýsulaugar is an extraordinary geothermal bath, filled with naturally hot mineral water. It is rich in green algae (chlorella) and various minerals and is thought to have a soothing and healing effect on the body. There are two hot. tubs, one cold tub and a large pool, which were renovated in 2019.  Open June - Mid August from 11:00 - 21:00. Extra opening hours are posted on Facebook.

The indoor swimming pool is 12.5 metres long and has a hotpot. There is also an outdoor area with hot tubs and slides. The swimming pool is situated beside the elementary school, artificial grass pitch, football pitch and play area. Open weekdays from 7:30 to 21:00, Saturdays-Sundays from 10:00 til 17:00.

In the sports stadium, you will find both an outside and an inside swimming pool, hot tubs, a steam bath which is fed with steam straight from the Deildartunga hot spring, a children’s pool and water slides.
