There are swimming pools all over West Iceland large ones and small ones,
and all are heated. Most are outdoor pools but a few are indoors. Extremely popular with
locals and visitors alike, Icelandic pools are open throughout the year.

Stykkishólmur Swimming pool
Outdoor and indoor swimming pool with Frasenius certified water, claimed to have regenerative powers. Thermal tubs, a cold tub, water slide and a wading pool for the children.  Summer opening hours - June 1st. - August 31st. Fridays - 07.05 - 19.00 Mondays-Thursdays - 07.05 - 22.00 Saturdays - 10.00 - 17.00
Varmaland
Outdoor swimming pool with hot tubs.  Open from June 1st - August 17th, daily from 9:00 to 18:00. Beautiful hiking trails in the area. Campsite.  
Lýsulaugar - geothermal bath
Lýsulaugar is an extraordinary geothermal bath, filled with naturally hot mineral water. It is rich in green algae (chlorella) and various minerals and is thought to have a soothing and healing effect on the body. There are two hot. tubs, one cold tub and a large pool, which were renovated in 2019.  Open June - Mid August from 11:00 - 20:30. Extra opening hours are posted on Facebook.
Hlaðir Swimming Pool
At Hlaðir you will find a cosy outdoor swimming pool. Spacious dressing rooms and a steam room are located in the basement. The pool is 16,67 x 8 meters and there is also a children´s pool with a toboggan and two hot tubs. Open Mondays - Fridays from 12:00 to 20:00 and Saturdays - Sundays from 10:00 to 20:00.
Húsafell Geothermal Baths
The thermal pool in Húsafell is one of the most popular places to relax in the area. It was originally built in 1965 but has been renovated and grown since then. There are two pools, two hot tubs, and a waterslide. Click here to see the opening hours
Akranes Swimming Pool
The swimming pool at Jaðarsbakka is a 5 lane, 25-meter outdoor pool. There is a sauna and a water slide. The hot tub area was renovated in 2017 and there is now a small children's pool and two hot tubs. Opening hours: Weekdays: 06:00-21:00 Weekends: 09:00-18:00  
Hreppslaug Swimming pool
The Hreppslaug Swimming Pool, built-in 1928 is run by the non-profit youth organization “Íslendingur”. Hreppslaug is preserved as a cultural heritage. Water from hot springs close by is led directly into the hot tubs and swimming pool. Opening hours in September Friday 18:00-21:00 Saturday and Sunday 16:00-20:00

Borgarnes Swimming pool
In the sports stadium, you will find both an outside and an inside swimming pool, hot tubs, a steam bath which is fed with steam straight from the Deildartunga hot spring, a children’s pool and water slides. Ólafsvík Swimming pool
The indoor swimming pool is 12.5 metres long and has a hotpot. There is also an outdoor area with hot tubs and slides. The swimming pool is situated beside the elementary school, artificial grass pitch, football pitch and play area. Open weekdays from 7:30 to 21:00, Saturdays-Sundays from 10:00 til 17:00.
Kleppjárnsreykir Swimming pool
A pleasant swimming pool, in close proximity to one of the most powerful hot springs in Europe, Deildartunga Spring. Grundarfjörður Swimming pool
A comfortable little pool in a prime location next to the campsite. Two hot tubs and a wading pool for children.  Opening hours October 1, 2022 - May 21, 2023:Weekdays 08-21Saturdays 13-17Sundays and public holidays: closed
