War and Peace Museum
The unique and remarkable history of the occupation period in Iceland 1940-45 unfolds at the War and Peace Museum. Our exhibition tells the story of how a peaceful countryside was transformed, in the context of world events and its importance to the victory of the Allies in World War 2. Here you can explore our high-quality collection of artifacts and feel the memories from this fateful time of upheaval. During your stop you can relax in our cozy café "The White Falcon", which serves light meals and Icelandic delicacies and check out our collection of souvenirs in the gift shop. Open 1st June - 26th August: Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 13:00 to 17:00, Saturdays and Sundays from 10:00 to 17:00. Closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. Large camping ground for tents and campers. Electric outlets are available and the camping ground has two large charcoal grills, a playground for the children and good restroom facilities. Showers are available and dishwashing facilities as well. The area also offers a dumping station for portable toilets. The camping site is open from June 1st - August 26th.
Hverinn
Hverinn-Sælureitur í sveitinni is a travel service offering accommodation, restaurant, camping and a small travelers store with a farmer’s market corner. There is also one triple room with private bathroom. Apartment An apartment 42 sqm of size with a living room with double sofa bed, bath with shower and a kitchen, two bedrooms with two single beds in each room, sleeping four persons. Hot tub and Swimming Pool A private hot-tub is available to room renters and the local swimming pool is only a 2 minute walk away.
Dalahestar
Dalahestar horse rental is a small, family owned business. We offer personalized tours for individuals or smaller groups. Our main tours are alongside the beautiful river Laxá and down to the black sandshores of Hvammfjörður fjord and a beach tour that goes further into the fjord with the possibility of seeing seals as well as the white tailed eagle.  Please contact for tours and booking information. 
Húsafell Camping
Campsite at Húsafellskógur  The campsite at Húsafellsskógur has been a very popular camping destination for decades. The main campsite is in the middle of the woods, and most of the locations are walking distance from a swimming pool, bistro, playground, bistro restaurant and a mini-market. There are electrical points at around 70 (European style) electrical connection points. The camp site also has WCs, showers, hot and cold water as well as laundry facilities. During summer, subject to crowd control measures as well and permit from the fire authorities, there is a campfire on Saturday night at 21:00. The Húsafell campsite is a family focused establishment, we want our guests to enjoy the area in peace and quiet. We also want our guests to be aware of their social responsibilities around garbage disposal, BBQ´s, and recycling. Children and teenagers are not permitted at the campsite without a responsible adult.  Campsite Rules at Húsafell Please take care and attention to the local environment, do not leave rubbish behind. Ensure all rubbish is recycled and deposited in the containers at the entrance to the site. Be considerate of your camp neighbours. No noise disturbance between midnight (24:00= and 09:00   Ensure you protect fragile shrubs and trees  It is forbidden to light open fire on the campsite and it not permitted to use BBQs that are in direct contact with the ground, such as disposable BBQs  Do not drive off-road and note there is max 20 km/hour (12 miles per hour) speed limit within the holiday home and campsite area.   Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times and you must clean up their littering. Children and teenagers are only permitted if accompanied by a responsible adult  Use of motocross bikes is forbidden Please advise the camp site team if you become aware of a breach of these rules. Búðardalur Camping Ground
The Budardalur camping site is located within a beautiful well sheltered grove. When arriving from the south (route 60) you will see the camping on your left. The site has many features such as running hot and cold water, toilets, showers, a washing room with washer, dryer and a sink, outside sinks, a small common room with cooking plate, a recycling site, wastewater disposal, soccer field and playground. Electrical huck-ups are available on both upper and lower campground.  Within 250 meters you can find a petrol station, grocery store, restaurant, coffee shop, handy craft store and the Leif Eiriksson Center - coffee shop and Viking exhibition. Dalahestar horse rental is just outside the town.  We are open all year round. 
Grundarfjörður Camping Ground
The campsite is located above the town with a unique view either to the sea or the mountain range. The site is divided into several smaller areas where each guest can find a place to stay. The swimming pool, playground and sports ground are right next to the campsite. The two main areas have toilet facilities and dishwashing facilities as well as wheelchair access. It is only a short walk to beautiful hiking trails both by the sea and into the mountains.   Most services are within a 10-minute walking distance. These include shopping, coffee shops, restaurants, gasoline, sea angling, bird watching tours, kayaking, whale watching, and the harbour. Grundarfjörður is the perfect location for people who wish to camp in one area for a few nights as it is centrally located in the middle of the northern Snæfellsnes peninsula. From here you can go on great excursions in any direction to visit the beautiful sites of the peninsula and the National Park.   The campsite is open all year round with less service in Winter.   Note: Showers in the Swimming pool are not included in the campsite fee.   Rates 2022: Adults: 1,600 ISK  Seniors and the disabled: 1.100 ISK  Free for 16 years and younger  Showers: 600 ISK Electricity: 1,000 ISK  15% off if staying three days or more.  25% off if staying six days or more.  
Stykkishólmur Camping ground
Stykkishólmur campsite is perfectly located next to Víkurvöllur golf course, only 5 minutes walk to swimming pool, supermarket, restaurants and all general services. At the Club house you can pay the accommodation fee. The campsite is a wireless hot-spot. Toilets - There are toilets in two locations at the campsite, in the service hut and in Clubhouse, including 14 toilets. Washbains (with cold & hot water) are situated in both facilities and there are taps to fill water cans. At camping site there is also facility to empty and clean car toilets. Shower - 2 outdoor showers with hot water are in the service hut, access is free of charge for campsite visitors.  Washing machine and dryer - available at the Club house/Tourist Information Center. This service is not included in accommodation fee. Contact the warden for further information. Information - wardens are at camping site from 8am - 10pm. Electricity boards - situated in a few places on the area, available for campers. This service is not included in accommodation fee. Contact the warden for further information. Akranes Camping Site
The campsite is located in Kalmansvík which is a beautiful bay on the outskirts of Akranes. The site has a wonderful view of the Snæfellsjökull glacier. The site has great facilities including showers and washing machines. The owners work hard to ensure that the facilities are clean and tidy as well as keeping prices at a reasonable level. There are many walking paths near the campsite as well as rich birdlife.
Arnarstapi Center
Arnarstapi offers a variety of accommodation options to travelers visiting the village of Arnarstapi. Whether you prefer a comfortable hotel accommodation with private facilities, a guesthouse with shared facilities, unique cottages or apartments that can accommodate up to 6 persons or a campsite for the adventurer that loves sleeping in tents or camper vans. Arnarstapi Center aims to offer all of the above options. Arnarstapi Hotel: 36 rooms, 22 double or twin, 10 triple rooms and 3 apartments with private facilities. Ólafsvík Camping Ground
Located at the Ólafsvík municipal boundary. Toilets, shower, hot and cold running water, cooking facilities, facility to empty waste tank and connection to electricity. The area is flat and with a fence around it. It is about 10 minutes walk into town and 15 minutes walk to the swimming pool. There are many good walking paths in the area.  The camp site is operated by the Tourist information center that is located in town. Kast Guesthouse
We opened our guesthouse in June 2011. We started with 16 rooms in our beautiful bequeathed family land surrounded by the ocean, mountains and of course with our horses, all the family being accomplished and passionate riders. In 2014, we inaugurated a new modern building with 11 beautiful rooms, increasing our capacity to 27 rooms in total. Kast Guesthouse is a family owner and run, with the help (only in high season) of very experienced individuals from all over the world who fell in love with iceland and what it has to offer, and are willing to give you their best advice and recommendations on what to do and see in their backyard.
Selsskógur, Skorradalur Camping ground
Green and sheltered camping area next to the lake Skorradalsvatn. Hot and cold water, shower, WC and electricity on site and garbage container near by. Hreppslaug Swimming Pool and many marked trails along with mountains to climb nearby. This is a camping area for those who want comfort but at the same time be in a close contact to nature. The camp site has hot and cold running water, shower, toilet and electricity. Á Camping Ground
The older camp site is located in a beautiful spot in a small forest near the rocks. The new camp site is close to the farm. By the older camp site is a toilet and sinks with cold water only. Next to the new camp site is a new service house with 3 toilets as well as cold and hote water. It is also possible to get electricity as the camp site has 24 outlets. There is access to a 100 square meter large old barn that has 10 tables and chairs, cooking facilities, microwave oven and hot and cold water. This is in a beautiful location on the south of the fjord Breiðarfjörður. There are many beautiful walking paths.
Snorrastadir
We offer accommodation in 5 cabins and sleeping bag accommodation. Close by is the sea in walking distance and a path to an old volcanic crater (Eldborg). We are 25 minutes drive from Borgarnes and 45 minutes drive from Stykkishólmur. 
Hellissandur Camping Ground
The campsite is located in a beautiful lava called Sandahraun. The area has a new service house with good facilities, including a kitchen, toilets, showers and washbins. There is electricity in the area. The campsite is operated by the information center in Snæfellsbæ that is located in the next town, Ólafsvík, about 9 km distance from Hellissandur. Many nice walking paths are close by and beautiful sandy beaches. The sunset seen from the camp site are beyond compare and the next door neighbour is the magnificent glacier Snæfellsjökull. Dalahotel
Dalahotel is a family owned hotel located in a beautiful, quiet valley, only 1 km from highway 60. The place is famous for its antiquity, Guðrún Ósvífursdóttir lived there, who was one of the main characters in Icelanders' Sagas. The hotel is located at the foot of a mountain where you can enjoy untouched nature with a number of hiking trails suitable for everyone. At the end of the day you can relax in the hot tubs and swimming pool, where the hot water is obtained from a borehole that is located in the hotel building area.
