The World's Worst Photographer Takes on Iceland

In April 2026, Icelandair invited people around the world to nominate the worst photographers they knew—including themselves. The response exceeded all expectations: 127,642 applications and an impressive collection of truly questionable photographs. After more than 2,000 hours of reviewing entries and interviewing candidates, one winner emerged: Blanche Montemard from Paris.

Now, Blanche's photography skills—or lack thereof—are being put to the ultimate test on a road trip across Iceland.

Why? Because we believe that even the world's worst photographer can capture stunning photos in Iceland.

Blanche is currently travelling across Iceland, visiting some of the country's most spectacular and photogenic locations. From dramatic waterfalls and black sand beaches to towering mountains and glacier lagoons, she's putting both her camera and herself to the test.

Will Iceland's breathtaking landscapes do all the hard work? Or will Blanche somehow manage to out-chaos some of the most beautiful scenery on Earth?
