The work 'dwelling' by Masaya Ozaki and Lilja María Ásmundsdóttir will be performed at Akranes Lighthouse on Saturday, the 16th of August at 18:00. Flautist Berglind María Tómasdóttir, clarinettist Bergþóra Kristbergsdóttir, and Þórhildur Magnúsdóttir on viola will be performing with the composers.
'dwelling' is an ongoing creative process inspired by regular walks. The foundation for the piece is based on walking routes between the composers’ homes in Reykjavík and Seltjarnarnes. For the performance at the lighthouse, they have added layers to the piece inspired by exploring the area surrounding the lighthouse as well as analysing the resonant frequencies of the lighthouse itself. During the performance, a graphic score is slowly created with ink and melting ice. As the melting ice paints with the ink, the music develops alongside the ever-changing score.
To book a place, please contact Lilja María through the project’s website: www.liljamaria.com/dwelling
Tickets: Pay what you can (suggested contribution: 2.500 kr.). All contributions go to the performers.
For those who are interested in supporting the ongoing project, it will be possible to purchase paintings from previous performances and the rehearsal process.
